GUIDELINES FOR VIRTUAL POSTER SESSION

The ICEM2021 invites the submission of abstracts on original work for consideration for an Oral Presentation or Poster Presentation in the Conference program. Your contribution is crucial to the success of the Conference and we greatly value your input.

ICEM 2021 is pleased to host an interactive Virtual Poster Session for the presenters and attendees. All poster presenters will be able to share their work via the following:

• A one-page PDF Poster posted on ICEM Poster Gallery
• Live interactive discussion sessions with attendees during break via our conference platform

PREPARATION OF THE POSTER

Poster title

• The title of the poster should be the same as the submitted abstract. Minor modification which does not change the overall idea of the abstract is allowed.

Author affiliation

• Complete name of the authors and affiliations should be written under the Poster Title.
• The RefID that is given to authors in the acceptance email should be displayed on the top right corner of the poster.

Contents of the Poster

• The content of the poster should include specific sections (such as the background, methodology, results, and conclusions).
• The poster should have a clear message, a logical layout and be easy to comprehend.
• The writing in the posters should be concise. Use short texts in bullet point format and minimise the use of full sentences.
• Add graphs, charts, and photos with colours to attract the attention of attendees.
• Explanatory illustrations should be used instead of text whenever possible.
• Do not embed any videos or animation in your poster.

Poster Specification

• The size of the e-poster is A0 (841 mm x 1189 mm) and can be created with any suitable software or applications.
• The orientation of the poster should be in landscape format.
• ONLY a one-page poster will be accepted.
• Presenters are welcome to design the poster following their preferences.

SUBMISSION OF POSTER

• Poster must be submitted in PDF format.
• The poster file size may not exceed 15 MB.
• Completed poster must be submitted to secretariat@icem-xmum.com before 25th October 2021.
• The subject/title of the email should be ICEM2021 Poster Submission
• Please name the PDF poster file using the RefID (e.g. A-9999) provided in your acceptance email during submission.

POSTER PITCHING

Poster presenters are expected to participate in real-time discussions with conference attendees during the pitching sessions. (Please refer to the programme handbook for exact time) The real-time discussion offers great opportunities to share the latest research innovation and insights, to make professional connections and possibly to build a Team.

Poster presenters are expected to be available during the pitching session. Attendees may approach the presenters directly via voice or chat. The discussion could be a narration of your findings presented on the poster which can include the followings:

• Research background and problem statement
• Project goals
• Main research activities
• Research findings and conclusion
